Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi avoided a direct answer to the question of what exactly Tehran is ready to do in case Azerbaijan tries to forcefully obtain a “corridor” through Armenia's Syunik region.

The Iranian minister, speaking at a joint press conference with his Armenian counterpart Ararat Mirzoyan in Yerevan, reiterated that Iran favors the solution of regional problems through dialog and diplomacy and is against military steps to resolve contradictions.

The minister noted that transit routes should operate by respecting the jurisdiction, territorial integrity and laws of the countries.

Any other way is unacceptable, Araghchi emphasized.
