The aerospace unit of Iran's Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) unveiled a “missile metropolis,” which is another of hundreds of such facilities, Mehr reported. 

The facility was unveiled on Tuesday in the presence of Iranian Armed Forces Chief of Staff, Major General Mohammad Bagheri and Aerospace Unit Commander Brigadier General Amir Ali Hajizadeh.

Footage published by various Iranian news outlets shows the top brass inspecting the vast center, which houses thousands of ballistic missiles such as Kheybar Shekan, Martyr Hajj Qasem, Qadr-X, Sejil and Emad.

Among these projectiles, Iran's Kheybar Shekan-1 missile is believed to be capable of defeating the U.S. THAAD missile system, while the Kheybar Shekan-2 missile was designed in such a way that it can evade the system.

One of the missiles, the Martyr Hajj Qassem, is codenamed after the Islamic Republic's chief commander of the counterterrorism forces, General Qassem Suleimani, who was killed in an early 2020 U.S. air attack on Baghdad.

The Qadr-X missile, which can travel up to 1,700 kilometers, as well as the Sejil and Emad missiles have also been rated as effective medium-range ballistic missiles.

General Bagheri noted that the rate at which Iran is building up its defensive power is much faster than the rate at which its adversaries are rebuilding their forces.
