YEREVAN. – The most important event for the Armenian science in 2011 was the law on National Academy of Sciences (NAS), which states that the institution is the highest scientific body and regulates the relations between other scientific organizations within Armenia, president of the Armenian NAS Radik Martirosyan told Armenian News-NEWs.am.

Martirosyan also stated that the index of citing the Armenian scientists was the highest among the CIS states in the special publication (Sept 2011) of the Russian Science and Innovations journal on quality. While on quantity, Armenia yielded only to Israel, featuring South Caucasus, Middle and South-East Asian states.

Regarding his expectations for 2012, Martirosyan said that there are many problems in science. He would like that this year was more successful for the scientists to deal easily with their favorite job, he concluded.
