In Altai an eight year old boy committed suicide. The police think that a computer virus might be a possible cause of the suicide.

The tragedy occurred on December 24. The police managed to find out that in the evening the boy was alone and was surfing with the laptop. At some point a window caused by virus appeared on the screen stating the Criminal Code of Russian Federation on “Manufacturing and marketing materials or objects with pornographic images of minors”. It read on the screen that the banner can be removed by sending an SMS to the given number.

The child thought that his parents would strongly punish him for that. He wrote a note where he asks his mother and father not to get angry. He also informed that he had gone online but soon a window popped up which banned access to the internet for debt. Soon after that the boy was found hanged. Investigation still continues, Pravda.ru reports.
