A magnitude 5 earthquake has been recorded 16 kilometers from the city of Mandalay in Myanmar, the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC) reports.

The tremor was recorded at 11.01 am time 16 kilometers southwest of Mandalay with a population of more than 1.2 million people. The origin of the earthquake was at a depth of 35 kilometers.

There was no information about possible victims and destructions.
