Sunday's Vatican service may be different from previous Sundays and an update will be provided Saturday, the Holy See press office told reporters Friday morning.

During a briefing on the health status of Pope Francis I, the press office said the pontiff continues to show clinical improvement, he is recovering at his residence in Casa Santa Marta after being hospitalized for a polymicrobial infection that resulted in bilateral pneumonia.

The Pope was discharged from Rome's Gemelli Hospital on his own recognizance on Sunday, March 23.

The Vatican press office noted that Francis I's condition continues to improve in terms of breathing, mobility and voice. Recent blood tests also indicate a slight improvement with regard to his lung infection.

He continues to receive treatment as well as mobility exercises and physical therapy related to breathing. He also requires less supplemental oxygen.

Moreover, Pope Francis continues his work activities and is in good spirits, the Vatican press office said.
