YEREVAN. – Armenian Court of Criminal Appeals refused the appeal of Yanis Sarkisov’s lawyer. The decision of Ararat and Vayots Dzor regions’ First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction remained unchanged. According to that decision Yanis Sarkisov was sentenced to 10 years of freedom deprivation for murdering his 20-year-old wife Zaruhi Petrosyan.

The lawyer of Sarkisov had filed a complaint explaining that Zaruhi committed suicide because of another relationship. However the Court of Criminal Appeals considered the appeal groundless and thus refused to justify Sarkisov.

As Armenian News-NEWS.am informed earlier, the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction had sentenced Yanis Sarkisov to 10 years of freedom deprivation for cruelly beating his wife to death.
