We already have signed memoranda with platforms such as Netflix. And the adoption of this draft will enable these agreements to move to a practical level. Education, science, culture, and sports minister Zhanna Andreasyan announced this at Thursday’s Cabinet meeting of the Armenian government, as she presented the draft decision which assumes that foreign film producers can receive 25-35 percent of their investments back if they invest in Armenia.

“We have signed memoranda for some projects that are planned to be filmed in Armenia. Also, we have serious interest from film producers from various countries. This is a long-awaited project. Now we are launching the possibility of practical implementation of these agreements,” the minister added.

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, in turn, noted that this is an important project.

"It is very important that we convey this information, this opportunity, to potential beneficiaries who may be interested in conducting such activities in Armenia. We must encourage our private organizations in the sector to look for partners, having this opportunity in their hands," Pashinyan said.
