Azerbaijan views infringement on Armenia’s sovereignty as “important confidence-building measure”

The Zangezur corridor can be seen as an important confidence-building measure in the South Caucasus region. This was stated by Elchin Amirbekov, special envoy of the President of Azerbaijan, during a panel discussion at the Antalya Diplomatic Forum. He noted that “this corridor is one of the elements of the ongoing normalization process between official Baku and Yerevan,” Azerbaijani media reported.

Thus, Baku once again expressed its intention to infringe upon Armenia’s sovereignty, as it speaks of obtaining an extraterritorial corridor through Armenian territory — a move that official Yerevan firmly opposes.
