Russia and Iran aim to lift trade barriers and increase trade between the two countries, and this will contribute to the implementation of already signed agreements. Iranian oil minister Mohsen Paknejad stated this after the meeting of the Permanent Russian-Iranian Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation.

Paknejad added that the Iranian parliament’s ratification—in the near future—of the agreement on relations with Russia will contribute to this.

"The strategic cooperation agreement signed between Iran and Russia in January has changed the picture of our relations. This agreement will pave the way for cooperation, and open the way for interaction between our countries in all domains: political, tourism, science, security, and education. The process of adopting the agreement is underway in our parliament, and we will soon see that it will be adopted," the Iranian oil minister noted.
