The Confederation of Trade Unions of Armenia held a traditional march in Yerevan—and under the slogan “Decent Work”—on Thursday, May 1, the International Workers' Day.
Elen Manaseryan, President of the Confederation of Trade Unions of Armenia, told reporters that the objective of this apolitical march is to once again raise issues and problems related to the improvement of work conditions in Armenia.
According to her, they have received 655 complaints regarding labor rights in Armenia, and the complaints about incorrectly applied labor contracts prevailed.
Manaseryan confirmed that this problem lies not only with the employers, but also with the employees, who must be aware of their rights.
After the aforesaid march, a presentation of the study “Minimum Wage and Socioeconomic Realities in the Republic of Armenia” is planned at the office of the Confederation of Trade Unions of Armenia.
