Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei told reporters that indirect talks between Iran and the US scheduled for Saturday in Rome were postponed at the suggestion of Omani mediators, adding that a new date will be announced later, Mehr reported.

Baghai added that the new date will be announced later.

Today, Omani Foreign Minister Badr Albusaidi, who mediated the previous rounds of talks, also confirmed the report that the talks had been postponed.

"For technical reasons, we are postponing the US-Iran meeting tentatively scheduled for Saturday, May 3. New dates will be announced by mutual agreement," he noted.

Earlier, Axios reported that Iran-US indirect talks scheduled for Saturday, as well as Friday's Iran-E3 meeting, would be postponed until next week.
