In January-April 2025, shadow turnover in Armenia increased by 84 billion drams, or 146%, compared to the same period last year. This was announced by Eduard Hakobyan, Chairman of the State Revenue Committee (SRC) of Armenia, at a press conference on Thursday.

Hakobyan added that as a result, the state collected 39 billion drams less, which is 80% more than the same period in 2024. He noted that during the reporting period, inspections were carried out at 6,124 businesses, while during the same period last year, inspections were carried out at 10, businesses in Armenia.

According to him, the number of inspected businesses has decreased by 40%, and the amount of unpaid taxes detected as a result of these inspections has increased by 20%. He explained that as a result of these inspections, about 45 billion drams of unpaid taxes were detected.

The official reported that in the first four months of 2025, the border checkpoints of Armenia let through an average of 30 more trucks per day than in the same period in 2024, and now this number is 610 trucks.

Hakobyan noted that the number of detected cases of smuggling has increased by 9%.

If in January-April 2024, a total of 793 judicial acts were issued against the SRC, then in the same period in 2025, this number decreased to 587, the SRC chief noted. .

"In addition, if in the first four months of 2024, 97 judicial acts were made in favor of the SRC, now—486. This indicates that we are carrying out effective work within the department," emphasized Eduard Hakobyan.
