The signing of a peace treaty resolves all possible issues between Armenia and Azerbaijan. This was stated by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan at the opening of the Yerevan Dialogue 2025 international forum in the Armenian capital.

Pashinyan recalled that Yerevan and Baku have managed to agree on the text of the peace treaty. The negotiations are over, Armenia and he personally have announced that he is ready to sign the document, Pashinyan said.

The Armenian PM noted that Azerbaijan officially links the signing of the peace treaty with two issues: the first concerns the dissolution of the OSCE Minsk Group, which was created to serve as a negotiating platform to resolve the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. Pashinyan said that the dissolution of the OSCE Minsk Group is acceptable to the Armenian side, but one must be sure that Armenia and Azerbaijan perceive the situation in the same way, that Azerbaijan’s objective is not to transfer the aforesaid conflict to the territory of Armenia.

In recent years, Azerbaijan has begun to call approximately 60 percent of the territory of Armenia “Western Azerbaijan,” Pashinyan said, noted that Armenia has repeatedly said that there cannot be “Western Azerbaijan” on the sovereign territory of the Republic of Armenia, and added that Yerevan proposes to sign two documents at once: a peace treaty, and petition to the OSCE with a proposal to dissolve the Minsk Group.
