We expect the Armenian embassy in the Hungarian capital Budapest to open by the beginning of Fall 2025. Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan stated this during the debates on the report on the implementation of the 2024 state budget of Armenia at Thursday’s joint meeting of the standing committees of the parliament.
In particular, Mirzoyan recalled that in 2024, Armenia opened an embassy in Uruguay, and diplomatic missions in Serbia and Luxembourg.
“There is already a decision to open an embassy in the Sultanate of Oman this year. Additional financial investments are expected from the Ministry of Finance of Armenia to implement this initiative. Accordingly, we will take the necessary 82 million drams from the current budget of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and 52 million drams will be allocated from the reserve fund,” Mirzoyan added.
Also, the FM of Armenia noted that the process of opening an embassy in Cyprus had begun. According to him, Armenia's ambassador to Cyprus has already been appointed and is already in Nicosia.
“We are currently resolving logistical issues,” the FM said, adding that Armenia has diplomatic relations with 184 countries.
