Two minor residents of Tegh village of Armenia’s Syunik Province got lost at around 1am Friday and ended up in the territory under Azerbaijani control. Argam Hovsepyan, a member of the Tegh village council, said this in an interview with Armenian News-NEWS.am.

“They sat on the horses, went after the third horse, which was at the mouth of the border [with Azerbaijan]. They went to bring it [back]. Only in the morning they learned in the village that the boys had ended up at the Azerbaijanis. It has already been confirmed that they are there, now let's hope that they will bring the boys back soon,” Hovsepyan said.

He added that there are no National Security Service (NSS) posts in Tegh village.

“The militia is standing [at the border] at us. Perhaps the guys at the post did not notice the boys,” Hovsepyan said.

Earlier, the NSS reported that Karen Jhangiryan (born on 27.06.2007) and Andrey Gyagunts (born in 13.01.2008), residents of Tegh village of Armenia’s Syunik Province, had ended up in the territory of Azerbaijan on Friday at around 1:20am, in the area adjacent to Aravus village of Syunik Province, as a result of getting lost in the terrain.

All necessary measures are being taken to determine the whereabouts of these two minors and ensure their safe return.
