One of those injured in the fire in an apartment of a building in Chambarak, Armenia on Wednesday morning has died. Armenian News-NEWS.am was informed about this by the Ministry of Health of Armenia.

“The life of one of the three injured who were transported to [capital] Yerevan could not be saved, the condition of the other two is assessed as moderate, they are under the medical supervision,” the Ministry of Health informed.

Earlier, Armenian News-NEWS.am reported that at 8:34am on Wednesday, the crisis management center of the Gegharkunik provincial rescue department of Armenia received a report that a fire had broken out in an apartment in a building in Chambarak town.

According to preliminary data, a natural gas explosion had occurred in an apartment on the third floor of the aforesaid building. As a result, the apartments on the fourth, third, and second floors of the building collapsed. And apartments in the adjacent entrance of this building partially collapsed.

The Investigative Committee of Armenia has launched criminal proceedings into the Chambarak explosion.

The death toll in this incident has risen to five.
