France will take part in the defense of Israel in the event of an Iranian attack, said French President Emmanuel Macron.

“We support Israel’s security, and if Israel is attacked, France will take part in Israel’s defensive operations,” he stated, as reported by Le Monde.

“We have always prioritized the diplomatic path over military intervention, which is why France did not support the attacks carried out by Israel,” he said, reiterating that France “did not make this decision jointly with Israel.”
