The reckless attack on safeguarded nuclear facilities challenges not only the fundamental principles of international law but also basic human conscience. Any damage to these facilities threatens catastrophic radiological consequences that will not be limited to Iran but may spread throughout the region and beyond. This was stated by Iran's ambassador to the UN, Amir Saeed Iravani, at a meeting of the UN Security Council, according to IRNA.
"Israel has also violated the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Iraq.
Those who support this regime, led by the United States, must understand that they are complicit in this crime.
Israeli officials have stated that this aggression is aimed at 'disrupting nuclear negotiations.' This admission alone is enough to expose the true motives of the attack: to destroy diplomacy, derail negotiations, and drag the region into a wider conflict.
These actions are tantamount to a declaration of war.
Iran will respond decisively and proportionately to these acts of aggression. This is not a threat but a natural, lawful, and necessary consequence of an unprovoked military attack," the ambassador emphasized.
