Georgian airports have canceled 19 scheduled flights today amid the escalation in the Middle East, News Georgia reports, citing airport operator TAV Georgia.

Fifteen of the canceled flights were at Tbilisi International Airport, and four at Batumi Airport.

Specifically, flights from Batumi to Israel and Iran, and from Tbilisi to Tel Aviv, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Erbil, Delhi, and Dubai were canceled.

Due to the sharp deterioration of the situation in the region, on June 13 Israel, Iran, Iraq, and Jordan closed their airspace to civilian aircraft.

As a result, several airlines suspended flights to Georgia, including Israel’s El Al, Israir, Arkia, UAE-based Flydubai and Air Arabia, Iran’s Varesh Airlines, and others operating routes between Georgia and the Middle East or Persian Gulf countries.
