Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei has appointed Brigadier General Seyed Majid Mousavi as the new commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Aerospace Force, Tasnim News reported.
In a decree issued on June 14, Ayatollah Khamenei, who also serves as the Commander-in-Chief of Iran’s armed forces, appointed General Mousavi to succeed Major General Amir Ali Hajizadeh, who was killed in an Israeli military strike early Friday morning.
The decree pays tribute to General Hajizadeh and emphasizes the merits and valuable experience of his successor.
Ayatollah Khamenei also called on Brigadier General Mousavi to strengthen the IRGC’s missile capabilities and to further develop its use of drones.
