Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, in a phone conversation with Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia’ al-Sudani, stated that if Israel continues its aggression, it should expect more painful retaliatory measures from Iran, Mehr reports.

“We did not start the war, but we responded to it decisively. If such acts of aggression are repeated, the aggressors will face more painful and crushing retaliatory measures,” the Iranian president said.

Pezeshkian added that “any country that truly seeks peace, security, and stability must take a stand against the aggression of the Zionist regime.”

“We emphasize that the Iraqi government must exercise greater vigilance and ensure the protection of its borders and airspace to prevent the use of Iraqi territory against the Islamic Republic of Iran,” he noted.

Masoud Pezeshkian again underscored the shared responsibility of Islamic countries to stand against “the aggression of the Zionist regime.”
