A man accused of spying for the Mossad intelligence agency of Israel has been executed in Iran, the Mizan News agency, which is affiliated with the Iranian judicial branch of power, reported on Monday.

"The man who carried out intelligence activities for the Zionist regime [i.e. Israel]... was executed this morning," the statement said.

Ismail Fekri, who was captured in the winter of 2023/24, was executed.

According to the report, he had passed sensitive information about Iran and maintained contact with two Israeli intelligence officers.
