Iran is pressing ahead with its peaceful nuclear program that draws its legitimacy from the UNSC Resolution 2231 despite the recent dangerous military strikes by Israel, the spokesperson for the Iranian foreign ministry said, Tasnim reports.

In comments at a press conference on Monday, Esmail Baghaei said the Israeli aggression against Iran’s nuclear sites had harmed the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty.

According to him, Iran expects the European countries to focus their efforts on halting the Israeli act of aggression and condemn the attacks on Iran’s nuclear facilities.

Baghaei stated that Iran’s nuclear activities are being monitored by the International Atomic Energy Agency and are subject to the harshest inspections, noting that there is no room for any excuse or justification for suspicion about the peaceful program.

“Iran’s nuclear program is alive,” the spokesman stated, stressing that Iran’s nuclear rights that have been legitimized by the UNSC Resolution 2231 could not be taken away by any organization.

On June 13, Israel attacked Iran, which was followed by retaliatory measures. Military actions between the two countries are continuing.
