The United States has canceled a scheduled round of bilateral consultations with Russia aimed at resolving mutual "irritants" and normalizing the work of diplomatic missions. This was announced by Maria Zakharova, spokesperson for the Russian Foreign Ministry, as reported by Vedomosti.

“As of today, the next meeting within the framework of bilateral consultations on eliminating ‘irritants’ to normalize the functioning of the diplomatic missions of both countries has been canceled at the initiative of the American negotiators. We hope their pause does not last too long,”Zakharova stated.

These consultations were part of ongoing attempts to reduce tensions and restore operational ties between U.S. and Russian embassies, which have faced restrictions and staffing issues since the escalation of political and diplomatic friction between the two countries.
