The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have issued an “urgent warning” to residents of Tehran’s 3rd district, signaling imminent military action in the area. The warning comes amid escalating hostilities between Israel and Iran.
“In the coming hours, the IDF will operate in this area, as it has in recent days across Tehran, targeting the military infrastructure of the Iranian regime. Remaining in this area endangers your life,”
said IDF spokesperson Avichay Adraee, as reported by BBC.
The 3rd district of Tehran, located in the northeastern part of the capital, is home to over 330,000 residents, according to official statistics. It also houses the headquarters of Iran’s state broadcaster, Voice of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Following the IDF’s warning, Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant (reported by Times of Israel) emphasized the significance of the move, stating:
“The Iranian mouthpiece of propaganda and incitement is on the path to extinction.”
This marks a notable escalation in the direct confrontation between Israel and Iran, with the potential for strikes in densely populated civilian areas.
