Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov stated that there is no alternative to a political and diplomatic resolution of the conflict between Israel and Iran, including the issue of Iran’s nuclear program.

“We have recorded that the planned round of indirect talks in Oman will not take place in light of recent developments. We firmly believe there is no and can be no alternative to a political and diplomatic path. The current situation speaks for itself — it is extremely grave and causes deep concern,” Ryabkov told reporters, as quoted by RIA Novosti.

He also stressed that Israel’s hopes of eliminating Iran’s nuclear infrastructure and other sources of concern through military strikes are unfounded.
