The Hraparak daily of Armenia writes as follows, in particular: “Why did you vote against the draft you authored yourself, when just minutes ago you were declaring from the NA [i.e. the National Assembly] rostrum that it is wrong to withdraw the draft, quoting [PM] Nikol Pashinyan, who had a positive attitude towards that draft and idea?” we asked CC [i.e. the ruling Civil Contract Party and its parliamentary faction] MP Hayk Sargsyan.
It is about the controversial draft to get out of the [mandatory] army [service] for money.
“I am loyal to the [CC] faction, I did not go against the faction’s decision.”
But a few days ago the faction had held a closed session and expressed its position that it was against it, and urged you to withdraw the draft, but you were quietly moving forward with the draft, which had received a negative conclusion in the NA defense committee a few days ago.
Sargsyan said that he had already said everything.
Maybe you received an SMS from Pashinyan? “No, I did not receive.”
Let us note that Hayk Sargsyan also wants to become a member of the CC board and has nominated himself as a candidate for membership. The [board] elections will be held in the fall, during the CC congress.
