A regime change in Iran is not part of the European Union countries’ agreed stance on Tehran, European Commission spokesperson Anouar El Anouni informed at a press briefing in Brussels

El Anouni added, however, that Europe has always clearly stated that Iran should never create or acquire nuclear weapons, as it will be a threat to the entire region.

Also, the European Commission spokesperson informed that the EU foreign policy chief, Kaja Kallas, was in close contact with the US on the situation in Iran. Anouar El Anouni claimed that these contacts include calling for discharge and adherence to international law.

On June 13, Israel attacked Iran, and this was followed by retaliatory measures by Iran. Military actions between the two countries are continuing to this day.
