U.S. President Trump has been briefed on both the risks and benefits of bombing Fordow, Iran's most secure nuclear facility, multiple sources told CBS News.
Trump believes that disabling that nuclear facility is necessary because of the risk of producing a weapon in a relatively short period of time, the sources said.
“He doesn't think there's much choice,” one source said. “Completing the work means destroying Fordow.”
Trump approved plans to attack Iran Tuesday night but has not yet made a final decision on whether to strike the country and formally join Israel's air campaign, a senior intelligence source and a Defense Department official told CBS News.
