Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov expressed regret that Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan will not participate in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) summit to be held in the Belarusian capital Minsk.

“Of course, it is regrettable. But Armenia will still be present via videoconference. Armenia is a member, an important member of the EAEU,” the Kremlin spox said during a press briefing—and answering the question of how the Kremlin reacted to Pashinyan’s decision not to attend the aforesaid summit.

“This is a country that, by the way, receives large dividends for its national economy from membership in the EAEU. Membership in the EAEU confidently adds several percent to Armenia’s economic growth every year,” Peskov added.
