Iran expected an attack on the Fordow nuclear facility and evacuated it, so the site did not suffer irreparable damage, said Mehdi Mohammadi, adviser to the speaker of Iran’s parliament, on social media platform X.

“From Iran’s perspective, nothing surprising happened. Iran has been expecting strikes on Fordow for several days. This nuclear site was evacuated, and during today’s attack, the nuclear facility did not suffer irreparable damage,” Mohammadi wrote on his page.

Earlier, US President Donald Trump announced a successful American military operation against three Iranian nuclear sites in Natanz, Fordow, and Isfahan. The president said that after the US strikes, Tehran should agree “to end this war.” Fars news agency, citing Iranian authorities, reported that nuclear sites in Isfahan and Fordow were targeted by airstrikes. Mohsen Rezaee, member of Iran’s Expediency Discernment Council, previously stated that Iran had moved all of its “enriched nuclear materials” to a safe location.
