US President Donald Trump stated that if the escalation in the Middle East continues, the next strikes on Iran could be much worse.

"Iran, the bully of the Middle East, must now make peace. If they do not, future attacks will be far greater, and a lot easier," Trump said in an address to the nation, broadcast by American TV channels.

According to Trump, the strikes on Iran were intended to limit “nuclear enrichment capacity and a stop to the nuclear threat posed by the world's number one state sponsor of terror.”

Earlier, Trump had announced a successful US military operation against three of Iran’s nuclear sites in Natanz, Fordow, and Isfahan. The president said that following the US strikes, Tehran should agree to “end this war.”
