The US and Israeli strikes on Iran did not take place in a vacuum, said the permanent representative of Iran to the UN, Amir Saeid Iravani.

The Israeli attack on June 13 and the US airstrikes on June 21 did not take place in a vacuum. They are a direct consequence of the illegal and political actions of the US and its European partners—the UK, France, and Germany—as well as the biased conduct of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) director general, Iravani said at the UN Security Council emergency meeting, which was convened in connection with the US strikes on Iran's nuclear facilities early Sunday morning.
