About 14 tons of bombs are being dropped on a sovereign non-nuclear country. This was stated by Vadim Fefilov, head of Rossotrudnichestvo (Federal Agency for the Commonwealth of Independent States Affairs, Compatriots Living Abroad, and International Humanitarian Cooperation of the Russian Federation)  in Armenia, at a conference being held in Armenia’s capital Yerevan on “Russia’s Current Approaches to Cooperation with the Countries of the South Caucasus in the Conditions of Aggravation of the Situation in the Middle East.”

According to Fefilov, the current situation can be characterized as “rules without rules.”

He emphasized that the escalation of tension is accompanied by active disinformation, and such an approach has been operating for many years. In this regard, he gave an example that he himself had witnessed in Kosovo in the 1990s.

The head of Rossotrudnichestvo in Armenia said that in 1998, Reuters had published footage of Albanian women and children allegedly trying to escape from Serbs. However, as informed colleagues said, these women were merely going to a neighboring village to watch another episode of a popular TV series, since the electricity in their village had been turned off at that moment.

That is, both then and now, huge forces and resources are being invested in the disinformation campaign, and Iran is no exception, Fefilov added.
