The conflict between Iran and Israel may drag on for two years, CNN reported citing a senior Iranian official.

According to the source, Tehran is ready for a protracted confrontation, but demands that the U.S. be directly responsible for what is happening, rather than acting through Israel. “Iran wants it is America to pay for this war directly,” - emphasized the interlocutor of the channel. 

On the night of June 22, the American air force attacked three key sites of the Iranian nuclear program. The main of them was the uranium enrichment plant in Fordow. US President Donald Trump said that the operation is aimed at eliminating the nuclear threat.
