Iran's state television reported the launch of an operation against the US base Al-Udeid in Qatar. 

Iran's operation against US bases is called “good news of victory”.  Tehran is carrying it out against bases in Qatar and Iraq, the Tasnim news agency reported.

According to Reuters, an air defense system has been activated at the Ain al-Asad U.S. base in Iraq. 

The 24-hectare El Udeid air base, located southwest of the capital Doha, is the forward headquarters of U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM).

CENTCOM directs U.S. military operations over a vast area, from Egypt in the west to Kazakhstan in the east.

The base was established under a military cooperation agreement in 1996. It is the largest U.S. base in the Middle East, housing about 10,000 troops.
