It is natural that Russia, as a country with long-standing friendly relations with Iran, occupies a special position in this crucial period. Iranian foreign ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei stated this, in response to a question about Tehran's expectations from Moscow in the context of Iran’s current conflict with Israel and the United States, IRNA reports.

Baghaei emphasized that Russia is not only a participant in the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action and a member of the UN Security Council, but also an influential neighboring countries, and therefore regional events are of paramount importance for it.

The Iranian MFA spokesperson added that Iran, as a country with a strategic partnership agreement with Russia, has clear expectations and a position regarding Moscow's active role, both at the multilateral level—in particular, at the UN Security Council—and at the regional level.
