US intervention in the Israel-Iran war has led to air travel disruptions around the world, reports AP.

As the spate of attacks between Israel and Iran escalates, airspace and airports in the region have been temporarily closed. Airlines have canceled more flights in recent days, with some suspending flights on certain routes until midweek—particularly in Qatar and the United Arab Emirates (UAE)—across the Persian Gulf from Iran.

Middle Eastern carriers have been hit hard by flight cancellations and delays, with Qatar Airways saying its flights have been suspended due to the closure of air traffic in Qatar.

The UAE carrier has suspended all flights to Iran and Iraq, including Baghdad and Basra, until  June 30. An unspecified number of other Air Emirates flights have been redirected, but they continue to operate as scheduled, using flight routes well away from conflict zones. Some flights, however, may be delayed.

Etihad Airways, the other of the two leading airlines in the UAE, has suspended all flights between Abu Dhabi and Tel Aviv until July 15, and has also announced the cancellation of several regional flights on Monday and Tuesday, including flights connecting Abu Dhabi with Kuwait, Doha, Dammam, and Muscat.

Gulf Air, Bahrain's airline, has extended the cancellation of its flights to Jordan until Friday.

Singapore Airlines, for example, has canceled several flights to and from Dubai from Sunday to Wednesday, citing a security assessment of the geopolitical situation in the Middle East.

British Airways has similarly suspended its flights to and from Doha until Wednesday.
