Israel Defense Forces (IDF) spokesperson, Brigadier General Effie Defrin, said it is still “too early” to assess the damage to Iran’s nuclear program, reports The Times of Israel.

“We met all the objectives of the operation as defined for us, even better than we thought. But it is still too early to determine, we are investigating the results of the strikes on the different sections of the nuclear program,” Defrin said in response to a question at a press conference.

"The assessment is that we significantly damaged the nuclear program, and I can say we set it back by years,” he said.

Last night, IDF Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Eyal Zamir said that, “We have set Iran’s nuclear project back by years, and the same goes for its missile program.”

US President Donald Trump, for his part, has repeatedly announced the destruction of Iran’s nuclear facilities as a result of the recent Israeli and US strikes, but the information leak disseminated by American media indicates the opposite.
