Former President Dmitry Medvedev, current Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council, went on Telegram and presented the reasons why, in his opinion, Ukraine should not become a member of the European Union (EU).

According to Medvedev, today the EU is a “politicized globalist and, for some time, ardent Russophobic organization” that dreams of revenge against Russia.

“Now its main ideology is brutal Russophobia, born of the so-called ‘Russian threat,’ which they themselves have invented to resolve their petty problems. Slowly but surely, the European Union is turning into a self-sufficient military bloc which should gradually begin to compete with NATO, especially in the era of Trumpism. The Brussels ‘cockroaches’ and the leaders of the EU’s not far away countries are proclaiming their own defense strategy, announcing the entry into the ‘era of rearmament,”’ the Russian politician noted.

Thus, according to Dmitry Medvedev, Ukraine is a threat to Russia in the EU.

“The completion of this threat can be twofold: a) either the EU itself will realize that it does not need the Kiev quasi-state in essence, b) or, which is certainly more preferable, there will simply be no one to join the EU...,” he concluded.
