The US operation against Iran was the result of long-term preparations and technological advances, said the chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Dan Caine.

He noted that the operation, codenamed Operation Midnight Hammer, was the culmination of years of work by various units—pilots, tank crews, fuelers, and weapons developers.

The DTRA team identified the target's vulnerabilities with high confidence, and the weapons were designed and deployed to achieve the desired effect, he said.

The MOP (Massive Ordnance Penetrator) program was initially joined by leading specialists, including dozens of doctors of science, Caine added.

And at some point, they secretly became the largest consumers of the country's supercomputing resources, he emphasized.
