Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan on Thursday met with member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and Foreign Minister Wang Yi within the framework of his official visit to China, the Armenian foreign ministry informs.

The interlocutors discussed the agenda matters of bilateral relations between the two countries. FM Mirzoyan emphasized the readiness of the Armenian government to deepen and expand cooperation with China, raising it to a new quality based on mutual trust and long-term partnership.

He stressed that the current joint efforts are aimed at forming a broader and more comprehensive agenda, including political dialogue, economic cooperation, infrastructure programs, and educational and cultural exchanges.

In the context of regional connectivity, Mirzoyan presented the Crossroads of Peace initiative as an important project proposed by Armenia towards the restoration of regional peace, cooperation, and transport links.

Also, he highlighted the possible engagement of China in the economic and investment components. In addition, the Armenian FM presented the latest developments in the process of normalizing of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan.

He emphasized that the two parties have agreed on the text of the agreement on the establishment of peace and interstate relations, which is already ready for signing. FM Mirzoyan stressed the importance of signing this document as a decisive step towards establishing stability and peace in the South Caucasus.
