Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan is attending the summit of the Eurasian Economic Union in Minsk, Belarus via an online videoconference, TASS reports.

The session is being attended by Russian President Vladimir Putin, the presidents of Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Sadyr Japarov, as well as Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko.

The narrow-format session began at the Palace of Independence of the Belarusian capital city.

Opening the session, Lukashenko said that “some countries expect the [Eurasian Economic] Union to stumble or collapse.’”

“Our union is attracting attention in the world,” he said. “Some are watching kindly as we gain momentum, while others are joining our union. Others are waiting for the moment when we will stumble or collapse altogether. Whose expectations will be justified depends solely on us. ”
