Any violation of the ceasefire by Israel will not go unanswered; Iran is not Lebanon, Iranian ambassador to Armenia Mehdi Sobhani told a press conference Friday.

He recalled that ever since 1948, Israel has provoked 12 wars, and even after the establishment of the ceasefire, it has followed the path of constant violations. According to the ambassador, there have been up to 250 cases when Israel has violated the ceasefire.

According to him, the current situation can be characterized in various ways, but, in essence, this is the cessation of attacks by the “aggressor.”

The Iranian ambassador to Armenia noted that Iran has been subjected to illegal aggression by Israel and its supporters.

Sobhani noted that since 1996, Israel has been constantly manipulating and attempting to mislead the world community, as if "Iran will have nuclear weapons in two years, in a year, in the summer, in the fall."

Also, he expressed confidence that the US was aware of Israel’s plans to attack Iran.

Sobhani assured that Iran had warned in advance that if the US directly intervened in this conflict, Iran would definitely respond.

It was on the evening of the counterattack that a ceasefire was proposed, albeit indirectly, he said

"Our position was absolutely clear: if the other side stops its attacks without preconditions, the Iranian side will also stop its defensive actions. We [i.e. Iran] acted solely for the purpose of self-defense," concluded the Iranian ambassador to Armenia.
