The administration of US President Donald Trump has informed Harvard University that an investigation has found that the university violated federal civil rights law in connection with its treatment of Jewish and Israeli students, The Wall Street Journal reported. 

“Failure to immediately make adequate changes will result in the loss of all federal financial resources and will continue to affect Harvard's relationship with the federal government,” reads a letter sent to Harvard President Alan Garber on Monday and obtained by the publication.

Earlier, a federal court in Boston blocked a decision by U.S. President Donald Trump's administration to ban foreign students from Harvard University from entering the United States pending further legal action.

In May, a federal judge blocked the U.S. administration's decision to ban Harvard University from admitting foreign students. The temporary injunction prevents the government from stripping Harvard of the certification that authorizes the university to admit foreign students to study in the United States. 

As previously reported, the White House suspended the authorization of Harvard University to accept students from foreign countries. According to the authorities, the university cannot provide full security for Jewish students because of pro-Palestinian activists opposing Israeli military operations in the Gaza Strip. In response, the university filed a lawsuit in federal court in Boston.
