The Past daily of Armenia writes as follows, in particular: On Sunday, French President Emmanuel Macron, in fact, had expressed absolute support for [Armenian PM] Nikol Pashinyan in the attacks [of his] on the Armenian Apostolic Church, mass arrests, other anti-democratic manifestations in recent days.

Of course, first of all, Pashinyan desperately needed a supportive response from the West, which Macron gave him. But there are deeper problems associated with such a statement. For this, let's first understand who attacked the Church, who is speaking out against [Russian Armenian businessman and philanthropist] Samvel Karapetyan [who is currently jailed in Armenia], who is justifying these attacks, who is defending the blatant illegalities of the [Armenian] authorities. Even with the naked eye, it is noticeable that these are purely [members of the] CC [i.e. the ruling Civil Contract Party and its parliamentary faction], and more precisely, the emphasized Western wing of the CC and those who have been fed with "Western grants" for years.

And the panorama was completed with the statement of President Macron of France, a friendly country. That is, it turns out that the total attacks on the [Armenian] opposition, the anti-democratic, illegal manifestations, the war declared by Pashinyan's authorities against the national Church, a large owner and a benefactor, have specific beneficiaries and specific objectives.

And this is difficult to consider a coincidence. In all the countries where the West has attempted to solve problems, it first has struck at the foundations of the national, at national and traditional structures (…).

And it is no coincidence that for years, decades, various supposedly “human rights”, “progressive”, “civil society” NGOs, individuals have been funded with grants, who these days “do not see” human rights violations, violations, and illegalities [in Armenia]. On the contrary, they encourage them, provide a background of support for the implementation of essentially authoritarian, autocratic aspirations. Moreover, they support the war declared against the [Armenian Apostolic] Church.
