The inaugural meeting of the security and defense consultations between Armenia and the European Union (EU) was held Monday, the Armenian foreign ministry informs.

During the consultations, the deepening of collaboration between Armenia and the EU in security and defense were discussed, and views were exchanged on current regional topics.

Also, the parties conferred about the prospects for further cooperation within the framework of EU crisis management operations, the activities of the EU civilian monitoring mission in Armenia, the opportunities for continued cooperation between the two parties on the margins of the European Peace Facility, the prospects for cooperation between the European Security and Defence College and corresponding educational institutions in Armenia, as well as some other matters of mutual interest.

The consultations focused on security sector reforms, and opportunities for implementing joint programs in combating hybrid threats and disinformation.
