Washington has announced the appointment of Amy Carlon to the post of US Charge d'Affaires in Azerbaijan. This was announced by the U.S. Embassy in Baku on its page in social networks.

According to the diplomatic mission, Carlon arrived in Baku this week. 

Previously, she served as director of the Political Training Division of the Foreign Service Institute from June 2022 to August 2024. Amy was also Deputy Director of the Office of Australia, New Zealand, and Pacific Islands in the Bureau of East Asian and Pacific Affairs (2020-2022) and Political Counselor at the U.S. Embassy in Athens (2016-2019).

During her career, the diplomat has worked in Indonesia, Austria and Russia.
