Russia is closely following all of Donald Trump's statements, said Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov, as he commented on the US president's words about his disappointment with the outcome of his telephone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin, TASS reports.

According to Peskov, Russia continues its special military operation in Ukraine, and it still does not seem possible to achieve its objectives through diplomacy.

"A meeting between Putin and Trump is indispensable, but it must be well prepared," the Kremlin spox added.
